Thank you for your interest in being a substitute for Beechwood Schools. Please note that we are looking for substitutes who are willing to sub on a regular basis. Sometimes a last minute absence occurs after the cut off time for our automated substitute system, ReadySub, and the School Secretaries will make calls to try and fill those absences.
State law requires a national and state criminal history background check as a condition of employment.
To apply to be a substitute in the Beechwood Indpendent School District you will need to complete an application under the Employment Opportunities tab located under the Employees tab.
The Substitute Requirements Checklist, listed below along with other documents needed, will have everything that is required in order to sub. Our School Resource Officer can take your fingerprints - by appointment, or you can go to your local police department. The fingerprint card can be picked up from out office. Once you have read the Substitute Handbook, you can print the signature page, sign, and return it.
Completed packets should be returned to the Board of Education Operations Office between 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
In order to sub for teachers, applicants must have at least 64 hours of college credit with at least a 2.5 GPA.
All applicants are required to have a state and a federal background check. All applicants, both classified and certified, must have a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating that they are cleared for employment based on no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect from records maintained by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. This form must be completed online. Instructions will be emailed to you.
